Crafty What Nots

So we finally have to admit it, it’s winter.

The nights are drawing in at a rapid rate, my hot chocolate cravings have gone into overdrive and the onesie is out in full force. This for me should mean more nights in snuggling by the fire (radiator) but for some reason I’ve been incredibly busy of late. Friends to see, food to eat, work to be done.

Despite this though, there are quieter moments and honestly there are few things I would rather do more than make and create. My lovely mother will vouch for me on this, as a kid all I ever wanted to do was craft. I drew, I painted and I made things constantly – inventions, designs, drawings and an endless trail of PVA glue all over myself and the house. This is one of those things that slipped away as I stumbled towards adulthood but in recent months, it’s all coming back. It was for this reason I got so excited when the lovely Jenny from ‘Crafty What Nots’ got in touch with me a few months ago, asking if I’d like to have a go with one of her craft boxes - I of course said yes!!

The parcel arrived one Saturday and it was huge! I tore it open it excitedly to reveal a beautifully, carefully packaged parcel of wonder. The theme of my box is ‘Winter Wonderland’, perfectly apt for the season. The box comes with more crafty bits than you can shake a stick at – stamping ink, buttons, twine, card, embellishments, the lot! The main goodies go towards crafting your own hanging advent calendar which I’m part way though doing (in the box came 24 sheets of beautiful, pre cut, guilded paper!!) and I can honestly say I’ll be keeping an eye on the next boxes for more crafting adventures. The boxes are thoughtfully put together, well balanced and even include some lovely inspiration sheets for future crafting ventures.

They cost just £12.50 plus £2.50 P&P which I think is incredible! As an craft enthusiast I can say with certainty that the contents of the box is well worth double the price, if not more. I’d urge you all to take a look at Jenny’s website and follow her on twitter (@Jennysiscrafts). Maybe you'll find some inspiration to make a few of your presents this year? I know I’ve got a few hampers, jams and biscuits to be getting on with.

Ho ho ho, here’s to the start of the festive season.
