Summering in Sicily

Whilst i've been away, i've been a busy bee. This post is dedicated solely to a week of total, unadulterated bliss. About a month or so ago I took my summer holiday with two of my best gal pals. We toyed with Greece, Sardinia, Turkey and all those places, but eventually settled on Sicily after finding the perfect house on air bnb.

It was a holiday of pure relaxation. We lounged about in the sand like lizards, only stirring to wallow in the bright blue see to cool off. We explored Palermo – a city so hot, I actually saw a mirage! We drank limoncello and ate with such reckless abandon we couldn’t move all night. We sailed the seven seas through water so clear and blue it was like a dream. Most importantly, we laughed and sang and made memories to be proud of when we’re old and grey.

Our holiday wasn’t lavish. Not dripping with cocktails and other such luxuries. We ate simple Italian food, fresh and delicious, straight from the market. It was a holiday that taught me an age old lesson - there is no amount of money in the world that could pay for being young, happy and free.

Ciao Ciao
